Title: Administrative Assistant/Land Technician

A successful candidate must be a highly-motivated self-starter with the ability to handle a heavy workload and meet critical deadlines. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive, and have the ability to learn new software.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/LAND TECHNICIAN JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assist Land Agents in preparation of contracts, assignments, extensions, and other applicable documents
  • Prepare general, routine correspondence for others’ signature
  • Prepare invoices
  • Record, copying and transmittal of correspondence to the client
  • Provide monthly review of calendars (obligations, rentals, expirations)
  • Complete title research and curative as directed by Land Agent
  • Generate weekly reports
  • General office administration tasks such as scanning, printing, handling incoming and outgoing mail, supplies inventory, etc.
  • Organize incoming and outgoing documents

 

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT/LAND TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Organized
  • Strong capabilities for relationship building
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously
  • Attention to details and accuracy

Position Title: GIS - Mapping Analyst
Department: GIS
Location: Remote
Reports To: Project Manager
FLSA Classification: Exempt

GENERAL NARRATIVE DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The GIS Analyst reports to the Project Manager. The Project Manager may differ from one client to another. The GIS Analyst (sometimes referred to as a “GIS Agent” or “GIS Landman”) is responsible for mapping and analysis performed at the request of Halo Land Management and/or clients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use geospatial technologies and analysis to creatively solve challenges for Halo Land Management and/or our clients
  • Geospatial database management that is professional and organized
  • Deed plotting parcels
  • Use geospatial data to complete tasks using knowledge of GIS map templates
  • GIS Analysis including environmental
  • Historic map georeferencing
  • Site suitability Analysis
  • GIS Map/Plat production, shapefile, Layer, and Geodatabase creation and management.
  • GIS experience in data editing and manipulation, QC/QA, Validation, Versioning ArcSDE, SQL, Data-Driven Pages, and Georeferencing.
  • Advise management and other departments of pertinent matters related to mapping issues.
  • Effectively communicate with management as to all matters in an easily understood format.

COMPETENCIES

  • Experience in ESRI ARC GIS: specifically oil and gas industry and operations, renewable energy, and utilities

EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in GIS with an understanding of oil and gas exploration
  • AAPL Certified Petroleum Landman certification preferred
  • College degree in GIS or equivalent
  • Must pass drug test upon before hire, quarterly, and upon random selection
  • Must pass criminal history background check (federal and state)
  • Must have clear motor vehicle record

WORKING CONDITIONS

Travel:

Travel to and from the office location for training and or meetings may be necessary but can more than likely be performed via zoom or equivalent. No additional travel is necessary. This position is a remote position.

Title: Landman - Mineral Buyer

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Serve as mineral owner liaison when necessary; Make independent decisions within established parameters on how to best approach mineral owners and proceed with negotiations;
  • Conduct negotiations with mineral owners, attorneys and companies to purchase mineral rights
  • Explain project to mineral owners, including expectations, procedures, ownership breakdowns, timing and financial arrangements;
  • Pull necessary title documents to support purchasing operations
  • Review and understand agreement packets and other necessary documents related to transaction

INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of one year experience in lease acquisition and/or real estate purchasing
  • Must have an active Ohio real estate license in good standing;
  • Excellent communication skills and uncompromising detail orientation;
  • Intermediate familiarity with computer applications including Outlook, Word and Excel and Google Drive
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in order to satisfy project deadlines;
  • Industry knowledge and familiarity with oil and gas contract law;
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and standard of ethics
  • Work outside of normal business hours and travel may be required
  • Local to operating area
  • Must pass criminal history background check (federal and state)

LAND AGENT - TITLE EXAMINER/ABSTRACTOR JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Conduct comprehensive research of county records to establish surface and mineral ownership, while also verifying property title and leasehold ownership;
  • Analyze research to determine necessary information for management and client review;
  • Compile run sheets and/or abstracts, mineral ownership reports, flowcharts, and additional files to convey research findings;
  • Perform HBP title examination;
  • Track expirations;
  • Meet strict deadlines and balance multiple project priorities;

LAND AGENT - TITLE EXAMINER/ABSTRACTOR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or a minimum of one year experience in lease acquisition and/or mineral title examination;  
  • Excellent communication skills in order to convey research information to management;
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work, while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in order to satisfy project deadlines;
  • Industry knowledge and familiarity with oil and gas contract law;
  • Local to operating area;
  • Must pass criminal history background check (federal and state)
  • Must have clear motor vehicle record
